The Bank of England was founded as a private bank in 1694 to act as banker to the Government. Today they are the central bank of the United Kingdom and has many responsibilities, including:

Project Goal(s)
The primary objectives of this project were to:
- Strengthen the Bank of England’s Data Governance Framework to enhance data integrity, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.
- Optimise board structures and meeting processes to improve governance efficiency.
- Establish clear policies and frameworks for data ownership, stewardship, and accountability.
- Improve user journeys to ensure better data access and management.
- Foster a data-driven culture by enhancing transparency and collaboration across the organisation.
Contributions
Contributions Our work focused on improving the Bank’s data governance strategy through a structured review, stakeholder engagement, and the development of key frameworks and policies.
Key contributions included:

Conducting a comprehensive review of existing data governance policies, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements.

Reviewing all Board Terms of Reference (ToRs) and suggesting optimisations for board meetings to enhance efficiency and governance.
