Take the time to create two out-of-office responses, a detailed response for INTERNAL and restrictive information for EXTERNAL.
Be selective about the information you share in your out-of-office messages to EXTERNAL e-mails:
– Do not reveal more information than required. For example, say you are unable to respond to the email rather than listing out your holiday plan
– Where possible, avoid providing colleague’s full details and replace with generic email address
– Where there is a need to share a colleague’s details, keep it to minimal information
